ReplyDeleteWell the musicians were Christians, if that makes them 'a Christian Band'. I didn't know them, but I think they wanted to be salt and light, and used mixed performance media (music and theatrical) to spread their message. Fish Co (2 albums, plainly christian songs) >> Writz (1 album, sort of edgy power pop, some social commentary) >> Famous Names (2 singles, name change due to confusion with band 'Ritz') >> then several singles and albums under names The Techno Twins & The Technos & The Techno Orchestra. All a mix of synths and nostalgia. The musical genre 'techno' wasn't established then.
DeleteOne incarnation appeared at UK Christian festival 'Greenbelt'.
I believe dance single Foreign Land https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noM2SK4iNfA (obvious Christian basis, not obvious Christian message) chimed with the feelings of other outsiders and so was popular in the LGB... community.

Thank you for this. Worth it for the two Ricky Ross (now of Deacon Blue) tracks. If you ever track down his So Long Ago album on Sticky Music, that would be appreciated.
